Rep. Bradley accepts 5-day unpaid work week

December 3, 2009

Dear Neighbor,

I am writing to let you know that I recently took a five-day pay cut and will work unpaid next week. As the economy’s downturn has affected every community in the Commonwealth and our neighbors in Cohasset, Hingham, Hull and North Scituate, I believe it is important as an elected official to help shoulder the same burdens as the people I represent.

The House has this year taken on an aggressive legislative agenda to deliver real savings to taxpayers through reform of our state’s transportation system and pension system, and to renew trust in elected officials by overhauling the laws governing the ethics of our public servants. And our work will continue through the holiday season.

The House continues to be in session two days a week moving legislation forward, and I continue to work daily in my district and at the State House for my constituents on a host of legislative issues.

I assure you that I, like all of you, am in no way exempt from the effects of this economy and empathize with my neighbors here in Cohasset, Hingham, Hull and North Scituate. I am honored to continue to work on your behalf in the Legislature.

Very truly yours,

Signature of Garrett Bradley

Garrett Bradley

State Representative
